Belgium beat Romania at Euro 2024 and dropped Ukraine to last place in Group E

Before the third round, all teams in the quartet have equal points, but the blue-yellows are at the bottom of the table due to goal difference

Belgium confidently outplayed Romania in the final match of the second round European Championship 2024 – 2:0.

Already in the 73rd second, the favorite opened the scoring – Youri Tielemans became the author of the third fastest goal of the European Championships. The Aston Villa midfielder took advantage of Romelu Lukaku’s discount with a precise shot into the bottom corner.

The game then took place under the control of Domenico Tedesco’s team, but the ball did not enter the Romanian goal for a long time. Lukaku’s goal was traditionally canceled due to microscopic offside, in a number of cases Florin Niţă came to the rescue.

The Red Devils managed to finish off their opponent at the end of the match. The goal was unconventional: goalkeeper Kuhn Castells was the author of the assist. He cleared the goal, and the ball, after bouncing, flew straight to the foot of Kevin de Bruyne, who ran away from the defender and managed to get ahead of Nitsa.

Before the last round, a rare situation arose in Group E: all four teams had the same number of points (three each). According to additional indicators, the quartet is headed by Romania, and Ukraine closes the table. Most likely, a draw against Belgium (the match will take place on June 26) will not be enough for Sergei Rebrov’s team.
