The national federation and the ministry have taken a tough stance against the aggressor countries.
Ukraine’s youth team in Thai boxing will not go to the world championship. It was reported to the Ministry of Youth and Sports. The reason for this decision was the entry into the competitions of athletes from the aggressor countries of Russia and Belarus.
The report also says that the Ukrainian Muay Thai Boxing Federation has repeatedly called on the organizers to change their minds and remove the representatives of these countries from participating in international sports competitions.
However, international officials decided to allow the athletes into the tournament. The only penalty is the absence of the anthem and flag, the fighters will perform under the banner of the Muay Thai International Federation.
But such a position did not satisfy the Ukrainian side, and domestic athletes will not go to the competition. The tournament will be held from 9 to 20 August in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
It should be noted that the organizers of the tournament initially published the lists of participants in the competitions, where many athletes were registered under the abbreviation RMF (Russian Muay-Thai Federation). However, after some time, their names disappeared from the website of the competition, but later reappeared, under the abbreviation IFMA.
Recall that earlier, due to the decision to allow Russians and Belarusians to participate in international competitions, Ukrainian judokas announced a boycott of the international federation.
