The winner of the European Track Cycling Games, Ivan Smirnov, set the fastest time during the first stage of the “Five Rings of Moscow” multi-day race.
The athletes covered 123 kilometers on the Vorobyovskoe Ring track in Moscow. Smirnov showed a result of 2 hours 45 minutes 23 seconds.
European track cycling champion Lev Gonov (2:45.23), who won the prologue the day before, finished second; Belarusian Denis Marchuk finished third (2:45.41).
The second stage of the stage race will take place on the Krylatskoye Olympic track on Monday, June 24.
