Mbilli: I will try to knock out Derevyanchenko

The fight will take place in Quebec, Canada on August 17

French middleweight boxer Christian Mbilli (27-0, 22 KOs) said he would try to knock out the Ukrainian Sergei Derevyanchenko (15-5, 10 KOs) .

“Derevyanchenko is a very good boxer. He has a lot of experience, he has fought many fights as an amateur and fought many champions as a professional.”

“I’ll try to knock him out. But I am confident that I will win this fight.”

Let us remind you that the 10-round fight between Derevyanchenko and Mbilli will take place on Saturday, August 17, in Quebec (Canada). The event will be hosted by the Videotron Center arena. Earlier, in May, it became known that the Ukrainian and French sides had entered into a deal for this fight.

Mbilli, 29, is a Frenchman of Cameroonian origin. On the night of May 26, he defeated Briton Mark Heffron by technical knockout in the first round. The victory marked Christian’s seventh defense of the WBC Continental Americas super middleweight title.

In April in New York, Derevyanchenko confidently defeated American Vaughn Alexander on points. Previously, Sergei lost to Mexican Jaime Munguia by decision. Sergei said at the end of last year that he plans to compete in the professional arena for about two more years, and his main goal remains winning the title.
