In 2024, Alina Zagitova, Alexander Gallyamov, Alexandra Boykova and other Russian figure skaters received university degrees.

— Every year, many skaters graduate from college. It is customary in figure skating that our guys go to school and go into life as real specialists. It’s a tradition. You know, all skaters pay attention to their studies and education,” Tarasova told .

Tarasova graduated from the State Central Institute of Physical Culture of the Order of Lenin (GTSOLIFK) in Moscow in 1979, now called the Russian Sports University.
