The IOC allowed tennis players Kalinskaya and Kotov to participate in the Paris Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved invitations to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris for tennis players Anna Kalinskaya and Pavel Kotov, according to the organization’s website.

The statement also notes that Karen Khachanov and Lyudmila Samsonova refused to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games.

Previously, they were invited to the 2024 Games Daniel Medvedev , Andrei Rublev , Roman Safioulline Khachanov, Daria Kasatkina Samsonova, Ekaterina Alexandrova And Mirra Andreeva .

Earlier, the Russian Tennis Federation (RFF) reported that Pavel Kotov, Aslan Karatsev, Veronika Kudermetova and Diana Schneider had also been declared for the Olympic Games, while the candidacy did not include Rublev, Khachanov, Samsonova and Kasatkina, who refused to participate in the Olympic Games.

In February 2022, the IOC recommended that sports federations not allow Russians and Belarusians to participate in international tournaments. Later, the recommendations were softened, and in December 2023, IOC chief Thomas Bach announced that the organization would allow Russian and Belarusian athletes who passed the selection process to the 2024 Summer Games in an individual neutral status. The athletes will be able to perform in Paris without a flag, anthem, and other national symbols.

The Olympic Games will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. The tennis tournament will be held on clay courts.
