The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has rejected appeals from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and World Athletics, upholding the decision to acquit the Nigerian runner. Toby Amusan in an anti-doping rule violation case, according to the organization’s website.
In July 2023, the Independent Athletics Authority (AIU) opened a case against Amusan for allegedly missing three doping tests over a 12-month period. The athlete denied the accusations against her.
The AIU subsequently acquitted Amusan and closed the case, but World Athletics and WADA challenged the CAS verdict, insisting that Amusan be disqualified. However, the judges ruled in favor of the athlete.
Amusan set a world record in the 100m hurdles at the 2022 World Championships in Eugene (United States), covering the distance in 12.12 seconds. At the Tokyo Olympics, the Nigerian became fourth.
