Yaroslav won ten Ukrainian champion titles with the Miners
Defender Shakhtar Yaroslav Rakitskiy announced his departure from the club.
“From the age of 12 until now, I gave and left my heart, myself, to Shakhtar Donetsk, both in the football arena and outside the green field… I gave myself for my native club.”
“I will always root for you. And I will forever have an orange and black heart. I’m leaving Shakhtar. The story with which my whole life is connected has ended,” the defender wrote on social networks.
Let us remind you that Rakitsky played for the first team of the Miners since 2009, playing more than 300 matches for the Donetsk club. In January 2019, Yaroslav moved to Zenit.
In March 2022, Rakitsky terminated his contract with Zenit and left the St. Petersburg club after the invasion of Russian troops in Ukraine. After leaving Russia, Yaroslav kept in shape with Metalist and Shakhtar. Also in the summer, the Ukrainian refused to move to the Brazilian Botafogo.
Rakitsky returned to Shakhtar in January 2023. Last season, the defender played 18 matches for the club, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
As part of Shakhtar, Yaroslav won 10 Ukrainian champion titles. The defender also won the Ukrainian Cup seven times and the Super Cup six times.
Shakhtar became the UPL 2023/24 champion. The miners are holding training camps in Slovenia, which will continue until July 28.
