Russian grandmaster and two-time world vice-champion Ian Nepomniachtchi has dropped one position in the updated FIDE ratings.

Nepomniachtchi now occupies fifth place in the ranking (2770).

The leader remains the Norwegian grandmaster Magnus Carlsen (2832). The second place is occupied by the American Hikaru Nakamura (2802), the third is the American Fabiano Caruana (2796) and the Indian Arjun Erigaisi (2778) is fourth.

Recall that on June 7 it became known that FIDE had temporarily deprived the Russian Chess Federation (RFC) of its membership. In turn, the FCR filed an appeal against the decision of the FIDE Ethics Commission.
