Ukrainian tennis player Katerina Bindl performed in the first round today Wimbledon 2024where she was defeated by a German woman Laura Siegemund.
The first set began with the opponents exchanging breaks, but then Beindl made too many mistakes on her serve and eventually lost 4:6.
The second set was completely dictated by Siegemund – the German surpassed Katerina in winners by more than four times, and in the second set she gave her only one game. As a result, Beindl lost 1:6 and left the tournament. Siegemund will face the winner of the Elena Rybakina – Elena Ruze pair in the second round.
Yesterday, four Ukrainians played their matches in the first round of Wimbledon 2024: Dayana Yastremska beat Nadja Podoroska, Marta Kostyuk got the better of Rebecca Shramkova, Yulia Starodubtseva triumphed over Alison van Uytvanck, but Lesya Tsurenko lost her match against Varvara Gracheva and left the tournament.
Today at Wimbledon 2024, three more Ukrainians will play in the first round: Elina Svitolina against Magda Linett, Daria Snigur will play against Oceane Dodin, and Angelina Kalinina will face Elina Avanesyan.
The British Grand Slam tournament will be held from July 1 to 14. In last year’s Wimbledon, the best among Ukrainians was Elina Svitolina, who reached the semi-finals.
