Russian rider Firyulina granted neutral status by FEI

Russian Ekaterina Firyulina has been granted neutral status by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI), according to the organization’s official website.

Firyulina became the seventh representative of Russia to be granted neutral status. Previously, Evgenia Davydova, Olga Kogan, Valeria Gineva, Alexandra Izmestyeva, Alexey Mashchenkov, Anna Sushcheva and Alexey Tyushkevich received it.

In December, the FEI Council approved a list of criteria and conditions that Russian and Belarusian athletes must meet to be admitted to international competitions. The criteria include the absence of active support for the NDF, contracts with the armed forces or any other national security agency.
