Having replaced the injured Pedri in the debut, the midfielder first opened the scoring and then provided an assist for the winning goal
Midfielder Spanish national team Dani Olmo received the award for the best player of the quarter-final match of the 2024 European Championship against Germany (2:1).
The 26-year-old footballer started the game on the bench, but appeared on the pitch in the 8th minute, replacing the injured Pedri. At the start of the second half, Dani opened the scoring, shooting low into the corner after a pass from Lamin Yamal.
The Germans (the hosts) managed to avoid defeat in regulation time thanks to a goal from Florian Wirtz. However, towards the end of overtime, Luis de la Fuente’s team snatched victory – and here Olmo again took part in the goal, crossing the ball onto the head of Mikel Merino.
Germany crashed out of the Euros at home, while Spain advanced to the semi-finals, where they will face the winner of the Portugal-France match.
