Southgate: All that matters now is England reaching another semi-final

England will play Switzerland today

England national team manager Gareth Southgate commented on the upcoming match against Switzerland in the quarter-finals of the 2024 European Championship.

“Switzerland were great in the group stage. They have good players and a clear style of play that caused problems for other teams.”

“We will have to show another level. We are always looking at the best way to approach the game. Switzerland play with five defenders, but from time to time they change to a four.

“Our job is simply to create problems for our opponents.”

“All that matters now is that England get through to another semi-final. I’m sure I’ll look back on that with pride in years to come, but for now I’m very focused on the moment.”

“You want to play as well as possible. Every team wants to impress everyone. We faced opponents who gave us huge difficulties, and there were huge expectations from our team.”

Italian referee Daniele Orsato has been appointed to officiate the England vs. Switzerland match. The starting whistle for the match at the Merkur Spiel Arena in Dusseldorf will sound today at 19:00 Kyiv time.
