Pokrovskaya supported the decision of Russian wrestlers not to participate in the Paris Olympics

Head coach of the Russian synchronized swimming team Tatiana Pokrovskaya told that she supports Russian wrestlers who have decided to refuse to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

The Russian Wrestling Federation (FSBR) reported on Saturday that Russian wrestlers who received invitations from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) had refused to participate in the Olympic Games. The FSBR said it “does not accept the principle of non-sporting selection that guided the IOC in establishing the list of eligible athletes, the purpose of which is to undermine the principle of team unity.”

— FSBR head Mikhail Mamiashvili said that the Olympic movement is being destroyed due to the fact that our best wrestlers, synchronized swimmers and gymnasts are not allowed to participate in the Olympic Games. Do you agree?

— I completely agree with Mamiashvili. Our wrestlers have been on the podium at the Olympics for many years, and now suddenly they are not allowed. Because of this, other athletes lose interest. “I support the Wrestling Federation,” Pokrovskaya told .

The games in Paris will take place from July 26 to August 11.
