The player failed to impress the coaching staff of Rukh at the training camp in Slovenia
Rukh refused to sign the ex-defender Vorskla Nadjiba Yakubu.
The 24-year-old Niger international was with Rukh during a training camp in Slovenia. However, Yakubu failed to sign a contract after the trial, as Rukh’s coaching staff refused his services.
It is reported that Rukh is going to look at two more potential new legionnaires in the near future.
Yakubu moved to Vorskla in 2018, and in 2022, after the start of a full-scale invasion, he went on loan to Finnish Ilves. Nadjib returned to the Poltava team in the summer of 2023, and in total, he played 13 matches in the last UPL draw. This off-season, Nadjib Yakubu left Vorskla after his contract expired.
Rukh continues to be at the training camp in Slovenia, and will play his next friendly matches on July 13 – with different lineups, the Lviv team will play against Croatian Osijek and Slovenian Domžale.
Rukh will open the new season with a home match against Polesia – the base date of the opening round of the UPL is August 3.
