Athletistic/Others. Russian athletes are significantly less likely to file TEE applications than American athletes. This was announced by Victoria Badtieva, chair of the Therapeutic Exemptions Committee of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA), during a round table at the All-Russian forum “Sport. Anti-doping. Health. The practice of interdepartmental interaction.”

Earlier, RUSADA Director General Veronika Loginova noted an increase in the number of applications from Russian athletes seeking therapeutic exemptions.

“Russian athletes on average file eight times fewer requests for therapeutic exceptions than American athletes. This shows that we need to continue our work. Many athletes know that they should make these requests, but do not do so. This means that we need to explain, educate or apply sanctions,” Badtieva was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti.
