Eritrean cyclist Biniam Girmay of the Intermarche-Wanty team won the 12th stage of the Tour de France.
He covered a distance of 203.6 km in 4 hours 17 minutes and 15 seconds. For Girmay, this is the third stage of the Tour de France won in his career. Belgian Wout van Aart (Visma) took second place in the stage, Frenchman Arnaud Demare (Arkea-B&B Hotels) completed the leading trio.
Russian Alexander Vlassov Bora-Hansgrohe did not compete in the race. He withdrew from the Tour de France due to a broken ankle resulting from a crash during the ninth stage of the stage race on July 8.
In the general classification, double Tour de France winner Tadej Pogačar retains the lead.
The thirteenth stage, which will be 165.3 km long, will take place on Friday.
