Italian tennis player Jasmine Paolini became the first finalist in the women’s singles Wimbledon 2024.
The tournament’s seventh seed beat Croatia’s Donna Vekic in the semifinals. The tense match lasted almost three hours.
Vekic confidently won the first set. The second set went to Paolini, who took the only break. In the decisive set, the Italian twice came back after losing her serve, and snatched victory in the tie-break.
