CS2 tournament to be held in Saudi Arabia in November
National team of Ukraine By CS2 guaranteed herself a place in the tournament IESF World Esports Championship 2024 thanks to successful performance in the Eastern European qualification.
The blue-yellows are represented at the qualifying tournament by a team of a famous former footballer of the Ukrainian national team Evgeniya Konoplyanka — KONO.ECF: Yaroslav “byr9” Buryak, Kirill “s4ltovsk1yy” Litvinov, Artem “kensizor” Kapran, Zakhar “polbandana” Siledchik, Denis “amster” Lyashenko.
In the group stage, the Ukrainian team defeated Albania (Dust II — 13:10), Armenia (Dust II — 13:0), Greece (Dust II — 13:6) and lost to Turkey (Vertigo — 8:13). The blue-yellows took second place in Group A.
The Ukrainian team then beat Bulgaria (Dust II — 13:7, Mirage — 13:11), Romania (Dust II — 13:11, Mirage — 11:13, Ancient — 13:11) and reached the final of the upper bracket of the playoffs. Thus, kONO.ECF received an early ticket to the IESF World Esports Championship 2024. In total, the five best teams of the Eastern European qualification qualify for the tournament.
On Sunday, July 14, Ukraine will play Turkey in the final of the upper bracket of the playoffs. The approximate start of the match is 23:00 Kyiv time.
The IESF World Esports Championship 2024 will be held November 11-19 in Saudi Arabia. The prize pool is $240,000.
