“In 2024, we will start with two competitions – in Moscow and Prokhladny, and only in high jump. But we plan that already next season we will have more cities and types of jumps on the same platform that was used in 2024. “Battle of the sexes”.
“The tournament in my hometown of Prokhladny will be a special event in my career. I jumped there only as a child and in juniors. I would like to give my compatriots a real holiday,” Lasitskene was quoted as saying by RIA Novosti Sport.
In the summer of 2024, two tournaments will be held, organized by Maria Lasitskene. The competition was called “New Heights”. On August 3, the jumpers will perform in Moscow, and on August 31 in Prokhladny (Kabardino-Balkarian Republic). The winners of the tournaments will receive 300,000 rubles.
In addition to Lasitskene, world indoor champion Danil Lysenko, world junior champion Natalya Spiridonova, world championship medalist Ilya Ivanyuk, as well as world junior championship winner Karina Demidik from Belarus will perform at “New Heights”.
Maria Lasitskene is the winner of the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, a three-time world champion and a two-time winner of the world indoor championships. The 31-year-old Russian also has a victory at the European Open Arena Championships and two gold medals at the Continental Arena Championships.
