Both sets of the final match ended in tie-breaks
Katerina Sinyakova And Taylor Townsend became champions Wimbledon 2024 in doubles – in the final match they beat a couple Gabriela Dabrowski And Erin Routliffe.
The first set was a very even struggle – both sides tried to hold their serve, allowing each other to make only one break. It was necessary to resort to a tie-break, where the pair of Sinyakova and Townsend still managed to realize the second set point and win the first game.
In the second set, the situation on the court changed little. Again, both pairs played well on their serves, again they had to play a tie-break, where Siniakova and Townsend won much more confidently. They made four mini-breaks against only one for their opponents.
For Katerina Sinyakova, this title was her eighth in doubles at Grand Slam tournaments, while for Taylor Townsend, such a success was the first in her career.
