Double Olympic figure skating champion Evgeny Plushenko said that his wife Yana Rudkovskaya motivated him to achieve high results.

Plushenko is a two-time Olympic champion, three-time world champion and seven-time European champion. Together with Rudkovskaya, they own the Plushenko’s Angels figure skating academy.

“I’m lucky with my wife, she’s a monster, a car, a tank in the good sense of the word.” Yana brought me back to the sport in 2010, after 2006. I was skating somewhere and I jumped a triple axel. She brought me back to the Olympics. She went everywhere with me. I’m grateful to Yana. She pulled me even further.

Many (students) come to us with Yana and me with their problems, we try to solve them, we cannot give up, we try to help them. We try to get to know everyone – transfer someone to school, rent an apartment to someone, God forbid someone dies – we always do it. “We did not just train and that’s it, we changed the system a little,” the correspondent reports, according to Plushenko’s words.
