Gutzeit: We are trying to resume competition in all sports

The main condition is safety

Minister of Youth and Sports of Ukraine Vadim Gutzeit said that the main task is to restore sports competitions in all sports in Ukraine.

“We are trying to create conditions for the resumption of almost all competitions in all sports. It is important for us that sports activities be in Ukraine again.”

“It is important that the national teams start training on the territory of Ukraine. We understand that this is very difficult right now. Almost all national teams train abroad, but most of the teams are already returning.”

“We are resuming the championships of Ukraine. On August 23, the first round of the football championship will take place. There are already competitions in athletics and shooting.”

“Regarding the conditions, the main thing is the safety of the competition. So that there is a bomb shelter nearby, or a place where, during an air raid, participants can hide for 5-7 minutes.

“Of course, the competition will be held without spectators. Lifeguards and medical services will also be present. Everything must be worked out,” the minister said.

Earlier, the working group for the preparation of the UPL championship conducted an inspection of the stadiums that will host the matches of the Ukrainian championship of the 2022/2023 season.

On July 28, the UAF Executive Committee approved the calendar plan for the next season, according to which the base day of the first round of the Ukrainian Championship was set on August 23.
