Ukrainian gymnast Taisiya Onofriychuk won her debut gold at the World Rhythmic Gymnastics Challenge Cup in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.
The Ukrainian was the best in the ribbon routine, scoring 32.900 points. Interestingly, Onofriychuk also came in just short of a medal in the clubs routine, finishing fourth with 34.650 points.
The Ukrainian team also won bronze in group exercises with three ribbons and two balls. The team included Maria Vysochanskaya, Diana Baeva, Alina Melnik, Kira Shirykina and Valeria Peremeta.
Let us recall that Ukraine will be represented in rhythmic gymnastics at the Olympics by six athletes. Onofriychuk will perform in individual exercises. The team in team exercises includes Vysochanskaya, Baeva, Melnik, Shirykina and Peremeta. Rhythmic gymnastics competitions at the Games in Paris will be held on August 8-10.
