Honored Coach of the USSR Tatiana Tarasova believes that it will be difficult for Russian figure skaters to return the maximum number of quotas for the world championship.
Earlier, the International Skating Union (ISU) website published a quota distribution scheme for the upcoming season. Russia retained three quotas in each of the four disciplines for the European Championships, but lost the maximum number of quotas for the 2023 World Championships. Now only one representative of each species can be set up for this start.
– Probably, we can say that we risk losing a whole generation because of the decisions of the ISU. We have several pairs and singles, and in any form we would have two, three prizes. Returning the quota will not be difficult, but very difficult, Tarasova told RBC Sport.
Previously, Russian figure skaters were suspended from international competitions due to the situation in Ukraine.
