Ukrainians join their club after vacation
Ukrainian football players Girona – winger Victor Tsygankov and forward Artem Dovbik — have started training sessions as part of the Spanish club.
On July 17, the Ukrainians will be able to take part in a friendly against Olot. In total, Michel’s team has planned at least six friendly matches, and Girona’s opponents will include Monaco and Bournemouth of the Ukrainian Ilya Zabarnyi.
Last season, Tsygankov played 34 matches for Girona, scoring eight goals and providing seven assists. Aston Villa and Manchester United were interested in Viktor’s services.
Artem became the best scorer of Primera with 24 goals, also made 10 assists. In addition, Dovbyk was recognized as the best player of Girona in the 2023/24 season. In the summer, there were rumors about the forward’s transfer to one of the top clubs in Europe, but the Ukrainian decided to stay in Girona.
Girona finished third in La Liga and will play in the Champions League for the first time in history.
