Figure skater Chirisano spoke about his work on his free program

Figure skater Dario Chirisano ice dancing with Elizaveta Pasechnik told about his work on a free program with coach Anzhelika Krylova and choreographer Maxim Shirmankin.

Chirisano teamed up with Pasechnik in October 2023. The duo trains under Krylova. The pair made their show program tournament debut in March of this year.

— Anzhelika Alekseevna choreographed the free program for us, we like it very much. We work with the program we have, but add bright colors, nuances and new sensations. Maxim Shirmankin helped us with this. He has never worked with skaters before, we are the first. It was very convenient for us to work with Maxim. He quickly grasps the nuances of the ice, we feel comfortable with him.

Maxim is a choreographer and director of shows, dance numbers and artistic director of the Red Ballet theater and studio. He is a true master of his craft with a million ideas, without any patterns and restrictions! It is a great pleasure to work with such a person for whom choreography is the meaning of life. But, of course, there are technical features on the ice, so not everything that can be done in the gym can be easily transferred to the ice. Sometimes it is completely impossible to transfer all the choreographer’s flight of fantasy to the ice. On the ice, we must meet certain criteria from a technical point of view. Everything is possible, but it takes time.

Last season, Anzhelika Alekseeva and I staged numbers in various directions, from the old waltz to the classics of the 60s.

But now is the time for modernity, experiments, bright style, and total dedication. I am sure that together with Maxim and Anzhelika Alekseeva we will show ourselves in a new, original light. How could it be otherwise with professionals ready for a lot of work and eager for discoveries, cool finds and new tricks?

Working together, we will convey the full range of feelings and emotions, but we will not forget the technique and beauty of each movement, telling our story,” Chirisano told .

Chirisano is a Russian figure skater of Italian origin. Since 2018, he has been competing for Russia with Irina Khavronina; in January 2023, the duo broke up. Soon, the skater teamed up with Czech Denisa Tsimlova, and the Czech association turned to its Russian colleagues about transferring Chirisano under its flag. In May, Chirisano received a refusal from the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) to move under the auspices of the Czech federation. Later, the 23-year-old skater announced on his social networks that he was no longer training with Tsimlova and teamed up with Pasechnik, who had previously competed with Maxim Nekrasov.
