Athletistic / Olympic Games. The President of the Russian Ski Racing Federation (RSRF) Elena Vyalbe reacted to the decision of Russian TV channels to refuse to purchase the broadcast rights to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris (France).
“I am glad that Russia refused to show the Olympic Games in Paris. It seems to me that it will be some kind of misery, and not the Olympic Games.
“I do not discuss or judge anyone, and the decision to participate is a personal matter for everyone. It is likely that the athletes had some reasons to accept a neutral status,” Vyalbe said, as quoted by RIA Novosti Sport.
The Summer Olympics will be held in the French capital from July 26 to August 11. Athletes from Russia and Belarus will be able to compete exclusively in neutral individual status and subject to a number of conditions. These sanctions are related to the conduct of a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine and have nothing to do with sport.
