Athletistic/OI-2024. Former figure skater and State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina commented to SE on the decision of Russian TV channels to refuse to broadcast the 2024 Olympic Games.

Earlier it was reported that Channel One, VGTRK and Match TV had decided not to acquire the rights to broadcast the Olympic competitions in Paris and that for the first time in 40 years the Games would not be broadcast on Russian television.

“Broadcasting the Olympics requires huge financial costs. The broadcast rights to the Games are expensive. Perhaps few people will want to watch competitions without the participation of our athletes. Those who are still interested can easily watch everything on the Internet. There will be a lot of broadcasts, and this is quite realistic,” Rodnina told SE.
