Ukraine will not be represented in women’s European Cup tournaments
Ukrainian Volleyball Champion Prometheus learned about his opponents in the volleyball selection Champions League season 2024/25.
According to the results of the draw, Prometey will begin their performance in the Champions League with the preliminary round of qualification together with Omonia from Cyprus and Jekabpils from Latvia. These three teams will hold a mini-tournament, and its two winners will advance to the first round of qualification. The mini-tournament matches will be held from September 10 to 12.
In case of victory in the mini-tournament, Prometey will play against Serbian Crvena Zvezda, in case of finishing in second place – against Swiss Schonenwerd. These matches will be held on September 17-19 and 24-26.
Three more Ukrainian volleyball clubs learned their opponents in the Challenge Cup. At the 1/32 final stage Epicenter-Podolyany will play against Estonian Pärnu, Reshetilovka will face Faroese Klaksvik, and Zhytichi-Polesie — Estonian Tartu. The matches of this stage will be held on October 8-10 and 15-17, respectively.
In case of reaching the 1/16 finals, Epicenter-Podolyan will face Bulgarian CSKA Sofia, Reshetilovka will face Belgian Menen, and Zhytichi-Polesye, in case of success at the 1/32 finals stage, will then face Serbian Karadjordje. The 1/16 finals matches of the Challenge Cup will take place on November 12-14 and 19-21, respectively.
It should be noted that Ukraine will not be represented in the women’s European Cup tournaments of the 2024/25 season.
