The situation around Dnepr-1 remains uncertain
Ukrainian Premier League contacted UAF regarding the situation with Dnepr-1.
Dnipro-1 still has not provided letters in which it would refuse to participate in the UPL, and the club does not respond to official requests from the UPL. In this regard, the UPL expects to receive official responses from four PFL clubs (Minaj, Metalist 1925, Left Bank and Epicenter) regarding their desire and ability to claim a vacant place in the UPL and recommend that the UAF choose one of several options for determining the club to replace Dnipro-1 in the UPL.
Also at the General Meeting of UPL participants, a decision was initiated to contact the UAF as soon as possible regarding the implementation of appropriate procedural actions to revoke the certificate of Dnepr-1.
Let us recall that in June, Dnipro commercial director Vyacheslav Fridman said that the club was in danger of closing the project. The functionary said that the current funds would not be enough for the entire season. However, according to him, Dnipro-1 is negotiating with potential new sponsors in order to continue its existence.
Honorary President Yuri Bereza said that he is ready to transfer all rights to the club to new investors. The functionary agrees to leave his post if the new owners save the team.
Earlier, Sport Arena reported that Dnipro-1 was unable to start the planned training camp. The club was able to gather too few players. There are not enough players to complete the starting lineup.
Dnipro-1, if it survives, will play in the Conference League qualification. In the second round of the selection, the opponent of Yuriy Maksimov’s team will be the Hungarian Puskas Academy. In the first round of the new Ukrainian championship, Dnipro-1 should play LNZ.
