Athletistic / Olympic Games. Russian canoeist Alexei Korovashkov said that at the 2024 Olympics in Paris (France) he will also compete for the deceased coach Dmitry Adaev. For Korovashkov, Adaev was a very close person.
“Dmitry’s death is a very big loss for me. In sports, coaches become fathers even for older athletes, as it was in my case, Adaev was a very close person to me, and his death was a big loss not only for me, but for the entire Russian national team, for everyone who is involved in rowing in our country.
“We worked with him for most of the season and the last time we spoke was two weeks ago. Now it is very difficult for me to speak, I am very upset by what happened. We will compete for him at the 2024 Olympics in Paris,” Korovashkov was quoted as saying by TASS.
On July 16, Dmitry Adaev had an accident while driving to a competition on the Kursk-Saratov highway. His car collided with a truck and, unfortunately, the life of the bus was cut short.
Alexei Korovachkov has received the neutral status necessary for Russian athletes to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The IOC has already authorized him for the 2024 Olympic Games.
