Athletistic / Olympic Games. Former International Olympic Committee (IOC) member Richard Pound said the United States is at risk of losing the right to host the 2028 Summer Olympics and the 2034 Winter Olympics. The “Rodchenkov Act” is to blame for everything.
The Rodchenkov Act is not in compliance with the WADA Anti-Doping Code. I believe that one of the steps that WADA will now take is to refer this particular issue to the Compliance Review Committee. It is suspected that if or when a hearing on this issue is held, the United States will be declared non-compliant with the WADA Code. And that means that the United States will not be able to host the 2028 and 2034 Olympic Games.
“If I had made that decision, I would have called in the president of the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Gene Sykes, and said, ‘This is a very serious situation, and it’s the Rodchenkov Act that puts the United States out of the game,'” Pound was quoted as saying by Reuters.
The 2028 Summer Olympics are scheduled to be held in Los Angeles, California. The location of the 2034 Olympics has yet to be confirmed as of July, but so far only Salt Lake City, Utah, is in the running.
