Athletistic / Olympic Games. Efforts continue to prevent Russian and Belarusian athletes from participating in the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. Today, various journalistic investigations or the publication of data from human rights organizations are used.

According to the international human rights organization Global Rights Compliance, more than half of the Russian and Belarusian athletes allowed to participate in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris have ties to their countries’ military or national security services and also support the ongoing special operation of the Russian armed forces in Ukraine.

Global Rights Compliance was unable to provide any direct evidence of its statements. It is worth noting that Global Rights Compliance is headquartered in The Hague (Netherlands), and the organization has additional offices in Washington (USA), Kiev (Ukraine) and London (UK). Previously, this organization has already been noted for its attempts to denigrate Russia in every possible way.

The Summer Olympics will be held in the French capital from July 26 to August 11. Athletes from Russia and Belarus will be able to compete exclusively in neutral individual status and subject to a number of conditions. These sanctions are related to the conduct of a special military operation (SVO) in Ukraine and have nothing to do with sport.
