“The probability is 50/50: either you participate or you don’t participate. It’s like the probability that Sergei Fedotov will meet a dinosaur on the streets of Moscow: either he will or he won’t. Therefore, chances remain,” Guberniev said in an interview with RB Sport.
The national teams of Russia and Belarus, as well as clubs from these countries, have been suspended from participating in international competitions since February 2022.
The 2026 Winter Olympics will be held in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo (Italy).
