Sullivan made his debut at the age of 14 years and 293 days.
14 year old midfielder Philadelphia Union Cavan Sullivan became the youngest debutant in the history of the league MLS.
In a 5-1 win over the New England Revolution, Sullivan entered the field in the 85th minute at the age of 14 years and 293 days.
Sullivan surpassed the record of winger Freddy Adu, who made his MLS debut in 2004 at the age of 14 years and 306 days, by 13 days. Adu was considered one of the top football talents in the mid-2000s, but failed to fully realize his potential in adult football.
Sullivan’s contract with the Philadelphia Union already includes a clause that allows him to move to Manchester City when he turns 18.
