— You moved to St. Petersburg at the age of 13. If I had done this earlier, would the jump set have been wider?

– Maybe. We tried to move a year earlier; we had already arrived in St. Petersburg and started looking for apartments to rent, but my parents changed their minds at the last moment. Mom decided that it would be very difficult and she needed more time to make a final decision.

— I think that in the region it is very difficult to study the same quadruples.

— Yes, not every coach can offer ultra-si. For young children from the regions, technology suffers and specialists do not really need it. If a girl jumps quadruple from a young age, she will naturally leave.

You could say that in St. Petersburg I was making up for lost time in Murom. The jumps are still good, but the spins are still lame – we didn’t do any spins at all in our area.

— Is figure skating popular among Murom children? Do you go to practice a lot?

— There is no serious figure skating there, only the most basic level, and then you have to move if you want to progress in this field. I think that is the case everywhere in the regions.

— Would you like to organize a master class in your hometown?

– I would like to. My former coach even invited me. But now he has resigned, I don’t know who works there. And the connection with the rink has been lost. Everyone who studied and with whom I communicated has already finished.

I gave master classes in Turkey. There were guys with an initial level of training, one guy did triple jumps, forced it.

— Did you enjoy the training?

— It’s interesting, in general. But in Turkey it was difficult because of the language barrier; we communicated almost by gestures.

— Where is your Murom coach now?

– He left. He’s training in a small town.

— Coaching in a small town is like that, of course…

— Yes, in such places coaches have small salaries. You have to be an enthusiast. My very first coach worked very hard, a real enthusiast. Now he works in Khabarovsk or even in Japan, ”Solovyov told .
