Today UPL clubs will hold training camps
Today, July 19, the clubs will meet UPLat which a decision will be made on exclusion Dnepra-1 from among the league participants.
In the case of replacing Dnipro-1, the organizers will be guided by Article 10.5 of the Regulations: “In the event of circumstances unforeseen by these regulations, decisions on the composition of the UPL participants are made by the UAF Executive Committee based on UPL proposals.” At the same time, Dnipro-1 itself will ask to retain its professional status.
It is reported that the executive committee will consider three options for the vacant place in the UPL. The first is a mini-tournament between Minaj, Metalist 1925, Left Bank and Epicenter (Minaj is against this option, the other three clubs are for it), the second is holding a play-off match between Metalist 1925 and Minaj, the third is the return of Minaj to the UPL in place of Dnipro-1.
Let us recall that in June, Dnipro commercial director Vyacheslav Fridman said that the club was in danger of closing the project. The functionary said that the current funds would not be enough for the entire season. However, according to him, Dnipro-1 is negotiating with potential new sponsors in order to continue its existence.
Honorary President Yuri Bereza said that he is ready to transfer all rights to the club to new investors. The functionary agrees to leave his post if the new owners save the team.
Earlier, Sport Arena reported that Dnipro-1 was unable to start the planned training camp. The club was able to gather too few players. There are not enough players to complete the starting lineup.
Dnipro-1, if it survives, will play in the Conference League qualification. In the second round of the selection, the opponent of Yuriy Maksimov’s team will be the Hungarian Puskas Academy. In the first round of the new Ukrainian championship, Dnipro-1 should play LNZ.
