The International Swimming Federation (World Aquatics) has ratified the junior world record set by the Russian Miron Lifintsev at a distance of 100 m backstroke.
Lifintsev swam the 100 meters in 52.34 seconds at the Russian Championships and broke the junior world record previously held by Kliment Kolesnikov .
The highest world achievement was set at the final of the Russian swimming championship, which took place in April in Kazan.
Previously, World Aquatics had ratified the adult world records of Kolesnikov and Evgenia Chikunova .
