The Independent Athletics Body (IAU) disqualified the Russian runner. Elena Arzhakova two years for an anti-doping rule violation, according to the organization’s website.
The decision was made based on data from the Moscow Anti-Doping Laboratory (LIMS). The suspension of the 32-year-old athlete is counted from July 11, 2022. Arzhakova’s results from January 29, 2015 to July 11, 2022 were canceled. The verdict is subject to appeal.
Arzhakova won the 2011 European Indoor Championships in the 1500 meters and competed at the 2012 Olympics. his 2012 European 800m title.
Additionally, 38-year-old hammer thrower Kirill Ikonnikov received an additional two years of disqualification on the same basis (LIMS). His total suspension will be for 10 years, from April 4, 2016 to April 3, 2026. The athlete’s results submitted from July 4, 2012 to August 4, 2012 and from November 2, 2014 to February 25, 2016 have been rescinded. Ikonnikov won the Russian championship, performed at the Beijing and London Olympics
