Police detain suspected criminal in Dnepr
Football player MDYUSSH U-19 Vyacheslav Zinchenko – suspect in the murder of a famous professor and teacher Irina Farion.
The 18-year-old footballer took part in the 2023/24 Maksym Belyi Memorial Tournament, where he played three matches. He also played in tournaments in support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and other competitions at the level of the Dnipropetrovsk region.
Ukrainian Interior Minister Igor Klimenko reported that the suspect was detained in Dnipro. Hundreds of specialists from the National Police, the SBU and other services worked on the operation.
According to the investigation, Zinchenko had been preparing an assassination attempt on Farion for a long time. During the preparation, he rented at least three apartments in Lviv.
Let us recall that Irina Farion received a gunshot wound to the head on July 19. In critical condition, she was taken to one of the Lviv hospitals, where she died.
