Verstappen given 10-place penalty at Belgian Grand Prix

The three-time world champion, like Tsunoda, was punished for using new components in his car

Three-time world champion in the class Formula 1 and the current leader of the overall standings Max Verstappen guaranteed to lose ten seats on the starting grid of the upcoming Belgian Grand Prix.

The Dutchman, representing the Red Bull team, has been fined for using a new power unit in his car.

Also subject to sanctions Yuki Tsunoda from RB. Due to the use of new components in his racing car, the Japanese driver will be forced to start at the back of the field in Spa, Belgium.

Verstappen continues to lead the overall standings with 265 points, while McLaren driver Lando Norris is second (189 points) and Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc is third (162 points).

The next Grand Prix will take place in Belgium from July 26 to 28. The main race is scheduled for Sunday.
