The French National Railway Company (SNCF) is alleged to have been the victim of arsonists.
“Last night, malicious acts were committed that affected the Atlantic, North and East high-speed lines. Deliberate arson attacks were aimed at causing damage to the company’s facilities,” the statement said.
According to SNCF boss Jean-Pierre Farandou, the disruption to rail traffic will affect around 800,000 people.
