Former Russian athlete Elena Kulichenko, representing Cyprus and the national team’s flag bearer at the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics, has posted a video of the event.
For the first time in the history of the Summer Olympics, the opening ceremony did not take place in a stadium. The parade of athletes took place along the Seine, with team delegations traveling on boats.
“This is the happiest day of my life, guys,” Kulichenko said in a video posted on the Telegram channel.

The athlete competes in the high jump and has represented Cyprus since 2021. A year later, she entered the University of Georgia and went to train in the United States.
The Paris Olympics will end on August 11.
