Stepanovsky’s team finished the summer training camp with seven wins in nine games
Ukrainian National Basketball Team won a hard-fought victory over Estonia in a friendly match held in Riga – 88:79.
The game was played on equal terms for most of the time, with one of the teams winning by turns. The blue-yellows, playing in an experimental lineup, first snatched victory in the first quarter (21:18), and then went into the big break with the score 42:38.
The Estonians subsequently stepped up their game and led for a long time, but Vitaly Stepanovsky’s team managed to bring the third quarter to a tie – 63:63.
For a long time the fate of the match was unclear, both opponents were alternately leading in the score. And then Issuf Sanon made a decisive contribution to his team’s victory, scoring 13 points in a row. This breakthrough determined the final result in favor of the Ukrainian team.
The blue-and-yellows have completed their summer training camp, following which they managed to win seven out of nine matches. Six of them came at the recent William Jones Cup exhibition tournament in Taiwan, which Stepanovsky’s team finished in third place.
