Organizers of the Paris Summer Olympics placed a neutral flag at the entrance of the Lithuanian swimmer Meilutyte Route for the 100m breaststroke semi-final.
On Sunday, Meilutyte failed to qualify for the final, having achieved the 11th time. During the athlete’s presentation, a flag was displayed on the screen under which Russian and Belarusian athletes compete in neutral status.
Meilutiite is the 2012 Olympic champion and five-time world champion.
The Olympic Games in the French capital will end on August 11.
