Alina Komashchuk and Elena Kravatskaya eliminated in the 1/16 finals
Ukrainian fencer Olga Harlan reached the quarterfinals of the individual sabre fencing tournament at the 2024 Olympics in Paris.
In the 1/16 finals, Olga beat Shihomi Fukushima from Japan – 15:9. Then the Ukrainian confidently dealt with the representative of Azerbaijan Anna Bashta – 15:6.
Completed performances in the singles sabre tournament Elena Kravatskaya And Alina Komashchuk. Elena lost to the second seed in the draw, Misaki Emura from Japan, in a tense battle – 14:15. Alina lost to John Hyeon from South Korea – 8:15.
Harlan will face Hungary’s Anna Marton in the quarterfinals in the evening session on Monday.
The 2024 Summer Olympics will end on August 11. The competitions will feature 329 sets of medals in 32 sports. Ukraine is represented in Paris by 140 athletes in 23 sports – this is the smallest representation of the blue and yellow during the Olympics.
