On July 29, at the Olympic Games in Paris (France), the women’s 100 m breaststroke event took place. The victory was won by Tatyana Smith from South Africa, who covered the distance in 1:05.28. In turn, Chikunova has already won this distance at the Russian Cup with a result of 1:05.26.

Earlier, WFTU President Vladimir Salnikov said that the federation would pay 2 million rubles to athletes who repeat or surpass the result of the Paris Olympic champions at the Russian Cup.
