The IOC has confirmed that Russian figure skaters will not be in Paris for the medal ceremony of the team tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games.

Russian athletes will not attend the medal ceremony for figure skaters for their performance in the team tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, International Olympic Committee (IOC) communications director Mark Adams said at a press briefing.

The official medal ceremony will take place in Paris on August 7.

— Who will receive the medals of Russia?

– Nobody. Only gold and silver medals will be awarded, Adams said.

Earlier, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) rejected appeals by the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) and Russian figure skaters against the International Skating Union (ISU) decision on the redistribution of medals from the team tournament at the Beijing Games following the disqualification of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva.

In January, the ISU annulled Valieva’s results and moved the Russian team from first to third place. Thus, the American team took first place and the Japanese team took second. Team Canada, which became the fourth to appeal to CAS, also won bronze.
