Tarasov to IOC: “I wish the same idiots would work with their children”

Honored Coach of the USSR in Figure Skating Tatiana Tarasova In a conversation with , she called the members of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) idiots, who, according to her, have forgotten what contribution Soviet and Russian figure skaters made to the development of world figure skating.

On August 7 in Paris, the IOC will hold a ceremony to present gold and silver medals to the figure skaters of the American and Japanese national teams at the team tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing. On July 31, International Olympic Committee (IOC) communications director Mark Adams said that Russian figure skaters would not participate in the ceremony.

– It is a real rudeness that our skaters were not invited! What do the athletes have to do with it, what are they responsible for? Just chaos! The IOC has no memory, they are memoryless. They do not remember that for many decades we have been leading figure skating and our athletes and coaches have honored it.

“It’s just shameful, it’s a form of disrespect for our country and world-class athletes. The IOC is behaving disgustingly. I wish the same idiots would work with their children,” Tarasova told .

The Russian team won the team tournament, but after Kamila Valieva was disqualified, the results of the competition were revised. The International Skating Union (ISU), after cancelling Valieva’s results, placed the American team in first place, the Japanese team in second, and the Russian team in bronze. However, Team Canada skaters appealed the ISU decision to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS), hoping to move up from fourth to third place.
